* WARNING THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT KANYE WEST*
Although this post may not be about Kanye West, it does involve another musical act that hails from Illinois, and that group is REAL FRIENDS. For those of you who know Real Friends has been my favorite band going on four years. They are a poppunk band with lyrics that hit me right in my heartstings. With anthemic songs such as Anchor Down, Floorboards, Skin Deep, and Late Nights in My Car how could you not like them!? They have 3 ep’s ,1 full length album, and another full length coming soon.
(Kyle from Real Friends)
With their second full length album The Home in My Head set to be released May 27th, a successful (unorthodox) tour across the United States, and a full stint on this year’s Warped Tour circuit my boys are only going up from here.
[Dissecting their new album]

So the cover art for the new album is an empty room with empty frames and soft lighting. Emptiness. Overthinking. Loneliness. Are my guesses for the new album, their first single off f the album is the last track on the album titled Colder Quicker. A few lines in the song correspond with the album art.
- I see the faces in reflections of the past ( The empty picture frames are memories that he can no longer remember)
- I’m nothing like they pictured me to be ( looking back on the past, no one pictured that they would be where they are today)
The album has 12 tracks
- Stay In One Place
- Empty Picture Frames
- Keep Lying To Me
- Scared To Be Alone
- Mokena
- Mess
- Isolating Everything
- Well, I’m Sorry
- Basement Stairs
- Door Without A Key
- Eastwick
- Colder Quicker
All the tracks are bound to be jam packed with sad boy emo feels and I CANNOT WAIT!
